Huawei, the Chinese OEM manufacturers has started rolling out Android 5.1 Lollipop firmware update for Honor 4C and Honor 6 in India. The update for Honor 4C already released on September 21st, while the users of Honor 6 will start update their devices starting from today.
Huawei brings new Emotion UI 3.1 update which brings new features, performance improvement and better user experience. The update is not being rollout via OTA, so users need to download the ROM and manually flash on their devices. To download the ROM zip file, visit Honor India support site, choose your model and tap on ‘download’. The instructions for flashing the ROM will be inside the download file. So, enjoy the new material design by updating your smartphone to Android 5.1 firmware.
New features & changelog of EMUI 3.1 update based on Android 5.1
- See notifications on the home screen: No more unlocking your screen to read notifications. You can access notifications directly from the notifications bar on the unlock screen without having to swipe.
- Increased speed and convenience while searching: Adds an all-new search bar in the Settings function.
- Time-lapse photography: No matter how long the photography is, a video as short as 40 s is generated by means of intelligent dynamic frame extraction.
- More privacy via ‘Hidden Apps’ on the home screen: Feature of hiding apps on the home screen itself. All you have to do is slide upward with two fingers on the home page to display any hidden apps.
- Badge App icons: User can disable badges for a particular badge icon.
To let you know, Huawei will release same Lollipop update for Honor 6 Plus on September while the Honor 4X will get the update starting from October 20th.
