Sony’s treatment of Android 5.0 Lollipop for its smartphones continues with adding older devices to firmware update. The users of Sony Xperia ZL, Z Ultra, ZR LTE and Tablet Z devices should keep an eye on their notification panel, as Sony already started rolling out Lollipop update via OTA (over-the-air).
The firmware update brings the Android version 5.0.2 with build 10.6.0.454 and weighs around 700MB. It will update all the device list above. This OTA update has been spotted in some regions of Hong Kong and US, so it might be a global release of the update.
The update brings Lollipop features that we have seen in Sony Xperia Z3, Z2 and other smartphones, which includes Priority Mode notifications, actionable lock screen notifications, Smart Lock and better user interface.
Recently we have seen Sony Xperia Z3 company high-end smartphone running on Android 5.1.1, so we can expect more update roll out in the upcoming months.
