Easily Install CWM/TWRP Recovery on Lenovo A6000 Android KitKat smartphone
Lenovo A6000 Android smartphone was first unveiled at the CES 2015 and the device has been officially launch in India early this year. With the inclusion of 4G connectivity feature, it makes the device the best budget 4G smartphone to be launched in India. In addition, the company launch its successor Lenovo A6000 Plus which have all the same features apart from RAM (2GB) and inbuilt memory (16GB).
To remind you, Lenovo A6000 sports a 5-inch HD IPS display and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with Vibe UI 2.0 Skin on top. There is 8GB of inbuilt memory which can be expandable with microSD card. The device is powered with 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) which clocks at 1.2GHz and is coupled with 1GB of RAM. The camera of the device includes 8MP on the rear side and there is 2MP front facing camera for video calling.

Early Pre-preparations:
- Make sure the device is well charged enough in order to avoid sudden shutdown while installing the custom recovery.
- The following guide is meant for Lenovo A6000 only.
- Enable USB Debugging mode via Settings and Developers Options.
- Setup ADB and Fastboot drivers on your PC/Laptop. Check here for the guide.
- Download and Install proper USB drivers on PC.
- Download the Custom Recovery for Lenovo A6000 Android mobile.
Guide to install the Custom Recovery on Lenovo A6000 Smartphone
#1. Connect your Lenovo A6000 to computer with the help of USB cable.
#2. Copy the downloaded recovery-yu.img file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot or C:\Program Files\Minimal ADB and Fastboot directory.
#3. Open the C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot directory and then open the command window in the above folder by pressing and holding shift key and right click anywhere inside the folder.
#4. Now type the below command and then press enter
Adb devices
The above command shows the device ID and gives the statement that the device is connected successfully.
#5. Next type
Adb reboot bootloader
This command will reboot your device into Bootloader / Fastboot Mode.
#6. Now type
fastboot boot recovery.img
This will flash custom recovery into Lenovo A6000 smartphone.
#7. Type the next command to reboot the device.
fastboot reboot
If you have downloaded any other custom recovery, then write the name of the recovery which is in “.img” file in the command section.
