Motorola Moto X 1st Gen was already on soak tests for Android 5.1 Lollipop firmware update. Today, the company has made official that Android 5.1 Lollipop update via over-the-air has been released for carrier unlocked models in the US and Brazil.
The update news has been announced by David Schuster from Motorola stating that the update will be rolling in the United States, Brazil and the devices sold by Rogers in Canada. All the listed companies are the first to receive Android 5.1 update. There are no words regarding updates to other part of the world. Motorola is always known for releasing Android updates in time.
The OTA update for 2013 Moto X is similar to that we have seen with 2014 Moto X edition. The update brings the software version build 222.21.15.
