Xolo Mobiles has just confirmed that its budget Android Smartphone, the Xolo One will soon be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Starting from 16 January, the firmware update will be rolling out to all Xolo One devices.
The interesting thing here is that though the Smartphone is not Android One phone, it is still getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update before the Android One Smartphones. There is no news regarding Android Lollipop update to Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V and Spice Dream UNO which are Android One devices. Google already promised that these devices will get fast Lollipop update, but the devices are still seeing running the old Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

In an interview to ET, Sunil Raina, business head, Xolo, said:
Having a dedicated software team is one of the key factors behind rolling out the Lollipop update ahead of other players. We have sold around 2,00,000 units of Xolo One smartphone since its launch in October last year. The acceptance of this device is too high and with the upgrade coming in, there will be more people interested in buying this device. The update will be an advantage with us.
Collecting back, the Xolo One is a budget Android 4.4 KitKat mobile phone launched to compete with the Android One devices. The device comes with 4.5-inch display with 854x480p resolution, Quad Core MediaTek MT6582M processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable with microSD) and a 1700mAh battery support.
The Xolo One comes in Red, White, Black and Brown colors and is priced at Rs. 6,599 ($106).
