A California-based company named as “Microdia” unveiled a 512GB microSD card at Computex. Thus it is the world’s first 512GB MicroSD card. The Microdia is unknown name when comes to manufacturing of flash storage. But actually the company sells microSD card and other mobile accessories. But it really strange to see a 512GB worth of storage into a piece of plastic.
Microdia 512GB microSD card is more than twice the storage of SanDisk 200GB microSD card which was announced at Mobile World Congress this year. The SDXC format has capacity of up to 2TB, but 512GB is the largest we have seen till now.
It is expected to go on sale starting from July, and costs $1,000. It has read/write speeds of 300 megabytes per second.
