Xperia SP is the Android Smartphone launched by Sony back in April 2013 and the device has not received the any major Android updates after Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. So in this case the Xperia SP users must keep an eye on Custom ROM’s to keep their device updated with latest Android version and for that reason we have brought here CyanogenMod 12 ROM for Xperia SP. This ROM was developed by Bagyusz a member at XDA forums and was after its first release many developers have contributed to make stable and as a result this ROM can be used as the daily driver for Xperia SP.
Though this ROM is quite stable this might have some small bugs which might get rectified in the next release or update. So visit the developers thread for more information and to report bugs. The ROM has the following functions working.

So if you are ready to flash CM 12 on Xperia SP then without any further ado follow the quick pre-requisites and then to the procedure on how to update Xperia SP to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Pre-Requisites:
- Backup all of your data.
- Charge your device to at least 75%.
- Enable USB Debugging.
- Download and install Sony USB drivers on PC.
- Setup ADB and Fastboot drivers on PC.

Root Xperia SP:
- Download and install the Towelroot apk from the above link.
- Open it from app drawer.
- Tap on make it ra1n.
- Device will reboot automatically.
- Check Root Permissions using Root Checker App.
Install Custom Recovery on Xperia SP:
- Download the Custom Recovery from the above link.
- Extract it on your PC.
- Connect Xperia SP to PC via USB cable.
- Double-click and open bat file.
- Choose option #1 to Install Recovery.
- If there were no errors, choose #3 to Reboot Phone.
- If there were errors, repeat the previous steps again.
How to update Xperia SP to Android 5.0 Lollipop using CM 12 ROM:
Step 1: Copy the ROM package, Google Apps Package and Fixes to your device’s SD card.
Step 2: Make sure to copy them at the root of your SD card.
Step 3: Power off Xperia SP. Boot into Recovery Mode by turning it on and as soon as the LED blinks press the following keys based on your Recovery – Volume up for PhilZ recovery, Volume Down for TWRP recovery and Camera button for CWM Recovery.
Step 4: Once you are in Recovery Mode, choose wipe all data, cache and dalvik cache.
Step 5: Select “Install zip from SD card” and choose ROM package and install it.
Step 6: Follow the above step again choose the Google Apps Package.
Step 7: Repeat the above step and install all the fixes.
Step 8: Once done, Go Back and select “reboot system now”.
