AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket SGH-I727 is launched by Samsung on October 2011 and the device features a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. It is powered by 1.5 GHz Dual Core Scorpion processor and has 1 GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.
AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket SGH-I727 runs on Android 2.3.5 Ginger Bread out-of-the-box and is updated to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware and since then it hasn’t received any major Android updates. So we have brought here CM 11 Custom ROM to update AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket SGH-I727 to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat firmware.
Pre Requisites:
Make sure your device model is AT&T Galaxy S2 with model no SGH-I727. Check in Settings > About.
Backup your personal data and enable USB Debugging on your device from the Developer Options.
Charge your device to at least 75%, to avoid AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket SGH-I727 from shutting down in between the update process.
Make sure your device is rooted and has latest Custom Recovery installed.
Update AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket SGH-I727 to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat firmware using CM 11 ROM:
1. Download CM 11 ROM Package and Google Apps Package from here to your PC. Copy it to the Root of your SD card. Make sure not to copy inside any folder, just copy at the root of your SD card.
2. Power off AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket SGH-I727. Enter into Recovery Mode. To do so press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power button simultaneously until you see some text on screen.
3. Now here is the guide to flash zip from recovery.
