OnePlus 2 is the 2015 flagship smartphone of OnePlus team which is already doing well all around the world due to its powerful specifications and features. But due to some reason you might have to unroot and install the latest Oxygen firmware on your OnePlus 2 device.
So, all those users need to flash the latest Oxygen OS ROM from the Stock Recovery to unroot the OnePlus 2. Here we share the complete tutorial on how to unroot OnePlus by flashing the stock firmware.
Early preparations:
- The below guide is meant only for OnePlus 2 Android device, do try on any other handset as it might result in soft brick.
- Backup all the important data (msg, contacts, apps data, call logs, etc.) to a safe location to avoid any data loss during the rooting process.
- Maintain a battery life of atleast 65% to complete the process.
Unroot OnePlus 2 Android Smartphone
Step 1: Download the latest OnePlus 2 Stock Oxygen OS zip file directly to your device internal storage.
Step 2: Now you need to boot the device into recovery mode. Look here to boot OnePlus 2 into recovery mode.
Step 3: Next select Wipe > Swipe to Factory Reset from your recovery menu. This will reset the device into Factory settings.
Step 4: Once done go back to recovery main menu and choose the ‘Install’ option.
Step 5: You need to select the zip file which you have saved to device internal storage in Step 1. Confirm to start flashing the ROM on your device.
Step 6: Once done, go back to main menu of Recovery and select ‘Reboot System’.
Step 7: The first boot might takes up to 5 minutes to apply the changes. So sit back and wait till the devices boots in normal mode.
Step 8: Congrats! You have successfully Unroot OnePlus 2 Android Smartphone. The device will be running on latest Oxygen OS ROM.
