Samsung officially launches the Galaxy A8 in India, its super-slim Android smartphone in the Galaxy A series. The price tag of the handset is set for Rs. 32,500 and will be available through various online and offline retail outlets. The Samsung Galaxy A8 will be well known for its full metal uni-body design similar to that of Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 handsets. The smartphone will be taking on OnePlus 2 which also packs with high-end specs and is well design.
Coming to specifications, the Samsung Galaxy A8 has a 5.7-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display and has finger print sensor integrated on the home button. The device is powered by Octa-Core Exynos 5430 processor while the international variant includes Snapdragon 615 processor.
There is a 16MP rear camera with LED Flash, f/1.9 aperture and is accompanied with 5MP front facing camera with wide angle lens. It has 2GB of RAM, internal storage of 32GB and a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 128GB. The various connectivity features are 4G LTE / 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS and packs with 3050mAh battery.
The Galaxy A8 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and has Hybrid Dual SIM support where the second slot can be used as microSD slot. It measures 158 x 76.8 x 5.9mm and weighs 151 grams.
