As expected, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has been unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked event alongside with Galaxy Note 5. The Galaxy Edge+ comes with larger display, more RAM and larger battery compared to its predecessor, Galaxy S6 Edge.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED curved dual edge display with 2560 x 1440 pixels screen resolution and has 518ppi of pixel density. The latest curve device has the similar design as the galaxy S6 Edge and includes a Fingerprint sensor on the home button for better security. There is a heart-rate monitor on the back of the smartphone.
Under the hood, it has an 64-bit Octa Core (quad core 2.1 GHz + quad core 1.5GHz) Exynos 7420 processor coupled with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. It comes in 32GB/64GB internal storage variants and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS.
The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus sports a 16-megapixels rear camera with LED Flash, OIS, and f/1.9 aperture and there is a 5-megapixels front facing camera with f/1.9 aperture. It measures 154.4 x 75.8 x 6.9mm and weighs 153 grams.
It has connectivity features like 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth 4.2 LE & apt-X, and NFC. There is a 3000mAh battery on the back with wireless and fast charging technology.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be available in four different color options- White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium. The device is available to preorder starting from today in US and Canada and will go on sale starting from August 21st.
