Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7275, the company mid-range Android smartphone launched back in 2013. Though the device doesn’t packs with impressive specifications, but the smartphone was quite successful among all Galaxy Ace series. The device comes in 3 versions- duo sim (GT-S7272), (GT-S7270) and LTE (GT-S7275).
This 4-inch smartphone from Samsung still runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The ROM comes from XDA senior member Kotzir and is currently in Beta stage.
Make sure to prepare your device before updating to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Custom Firmware-
The update process is for Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 Gt-S7275 model only. Don’t install this firmware on any other Android smartphone. Also backup your device and make sure bootloader is unlocked.
Enable USB Debugging from settings and charge your device to 70% or more.
How to Update Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop using CM 12.1
1. Download the latest version of Unofficial Android 5.1.1 CM 12.1 ROM ZIP and GAPPS packages to your computer.
2. Connect your Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 Android smartphone to computer and transfer the above downloaded packages to the root directory of internal storage.
3. After successful transfer, disconnect your device from PC and reboot into recovery mode. In Recovery, perform ‘wipe data factory reset’ and then after tap on advanced options and wipe cache, dalvik cache, data and system partitions.
4. Next head back to recovery main menu and tap on “Install zip from SD card” and select the Unofficial Android 5.1.1 CM 12.1 ROM zip package. Now the Lollipop 5.1.1 ROM will start flashing on your device.
5. Once the ROM has been flashed on your device, repeat the same above step to flash GAPPS. After successful installation, reboot your device into normal mode by selecting “reboot system now”.
The first boot after installation of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Custom ROM might take few minutes to complete. So be patient and wait till the device boots up in Normal mode.
