Asus Zenfone 5 (A500CG, A501CG) now can be easily rooted running on Android Lollipop firmware v3.23.40.60. Earlier we have shared tutorial to update the Asus Zenfone 5 to Lollipop OS v3.23.40.60 and now here we bring simple guide to get root access on the same handset. It is a one-click root process and every users can follow the guide.

Rooting of Asus Zenfone 5 voids company warranty and sometimes bricks your device if the steps not followed correctly. So always proceed at your own choice.
Quick Pre-requisites:
- The below rooting process is meant for only Asus Zenfone 5 A500CG (T00F), A501CG (T00J) models running on Android Lollipop firmware with build v3.23.40.60 and v3.23.40.52. If your device runs on outdated OS, then check here to download and install Android Lollipop.
- Backup all the important stuff on your device and charge at least 70% or more.
- Install Minimal ADB and Fastboot drivers on your PC.
- Make sure USB Debugging mode is enabled on your handset.
Root Asus Zenfone 5 A500CG, A501CG running on Lollipop firmware:
Step 1: Download the Zenfone 5 Android Lollipop root tool.zip file on your computer.
Step 2: Next unzip the root tool on system desktop.
Step 3: Take a USB cable and connect the smartphone with PC. On a message appears on your Zenfone 5 screen asking for a safe connection between device and PC. Confirm “OK” and continue.
Step 4: Now from the extracted files, run Root.bat.
Step 5: The rooting tool makes the device enter into fastboot mode and then starts the rooting procedure. After completion, the device normally reboots into normal mode.
Step 6: To confirm the root access, just go to App Drawer and find Super SU app installed. You can also verify by downloading root checker on your smartphone.
