Microsoft has launched second X series Android phone in India dubbed as Nokia X2 Dual SIM priced at Rs. 8,699. The Smartphone was first unveiled in the month of June and went to sale on selected countries which were not announced.
The Nokia X2 is a dual SIM mobile phone and will be available in glossy green, orange and black, with glossy yellow, white and matt dark grey. It sports a translucent outer layer, reminiscent to the ones on Nokia’s Asha range of handsets. Microsoft Mobile says that all new Nokia X2 Smartphone can run android apps and is equipped with the latest version of Nokia Store.
Nokia also started rolling out the Nokia X software Platform v2.1.0.11 for the X2 Dual SIM devices via OTA. The device was launched based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).
Microsoft says, “The Nokia X2 is also equipped with another navigation option; the brand-new ‘apps list’, which keeps your home screen clear for your most used apps, bringing Nokia X2 in line with the existing Lumia experience.”
The latest Smartphone Nokia X2 Dual SIM features a 4.3-inch ClearBlack LCD display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, protected by a scratch-resistant coating. It is powered with 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor supported by a Adreno 305 grapics and 1GB of RAM. On the camera Front, it comes with 5MP primary shooter with Flash and a VGA front camera. It is aided with connectivity features like 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The Nokia X2 Dual SIM has 4GB of internal storage which can be further expandable and the company is also offering 15GB of free cloud storage on OneDrive. Having 1800 mAh battery on the back is expected to deliver 13 hours of calling and 23 days of standby time.
The Smartphone comes pre-loaded with Outlook, Skype, Mix Radio, Bing search app, WeChat, Path, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Yammer and Xbox games. Pull-down notification bar is the additional feature added which was missing on the Nokia X devices. As we said there is no Google Play Store supported to the device, but instead you can use Nokia Store or third-party apps store.
Nokia with Airtel in India decided to provide free unlimited downloads of Android apps for first six months. The plan offers up to 500MB of free usage per month while downloading the apps from the Nokia Store.
