Motorola has just announced its newest mid-range Android phone in India, the Moto G (3rd Generation). In the recent article we have compared Moto G (3rd Gen) with its predecessor Moto G (2nd Gen). The company brought a better camera, more storage, latest OS, good battery and increased RAM in its latest device. Now here we will be comparing the Moto G (3rd Gen) with Xiaomi Mi 4i which has quite similar specs and price tag.
Display and Processor:
Both the mid-range devices sports a 5-inch screen. The only difference is that the Moto G (3rd Gen) has 720p display, while the Mi 4i has a 1080p display.
The Moto G (third generation) is powered by a 1.4GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core chipset paired with 1GB/2GB RAM. On the other hand, the Mi 4i has a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core chipset with 2GB of RAM.
Camera and Storage:
Coming to cameras of the handsets, both features a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP front camera. The Motorola Moto G 2015 comes in 8GB or 16GB internal storage options with expandable memory while the Xiaomi Mi 4i has 16GB or 32GB storage options and doesn’t supports microSD card.
Battery and Software:
The Moto G (3rd Gen) has 2,470 mAh battery support quite low when compared to Mi 4i 3,120 mAh battery life. Motorola claims that the battery is well enough to provide backup for an entire day. The latest Moto G runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box while the Mi 4i runs on MIUI 6 based Android OS.

The Xiaomi Mi 4i offers a better display, more battery, and more internal storage although it doesn’t have a SD card slot. However, with same price tag, latest Android OS and waterproof capabilities makes the device a better competitor to Mi 4i.
