Meizu just announced the M2, its latest budget Android smartphone in China. The company offers quality features for a price tag of 599 Chinese Yuan (approx. US$ 96/ Rs. 6,160) only. The Meizu M2 will be the best competitor of Motorola Moto G (3rd Gen) which was launched yesterday in a special event. Both the devices share many similar features like 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 2GB RAM and 4G LTE connectivity.
The Meizu M2 has a Hybrid Dual SIM (second slot can be used as microSD slot) support and features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display with AGC Dragontrail protective glass. It has 2GB of RAM for better multi-tasking feature, 16GB internal storage and expandable storage up to 128GB.
Coming to cameras, the Meizu M2 has a 13-megapixels rear facing camera with LED Flash, 5p lens, Gorilla Glass 3 protective lens glass, f/2.2 aperture and there is a 5-megapixels front camera with f/2.0 aperture and 4p lens. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with FlyMe OS 4.5 on top.
It has a dimensions of 140.1 x 68.9 x 8.7mm and weighs just 131g. The connectivity includes 4G LTE/ 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. There is a 2500mAh battery on the back which provide juice to the handset.
The Meizu M2 will be available in White, Pink, Grey and Blue colors variants. The device can be pre-ordered starting from today and will go on sale from August 3rd in China. Company didn’t announce the global launch of the smartphone.
