OnePlus One now can be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with the help of CM13 official ROM. The ROM comes with tons of new features and has better security compared to the previous versions. All thanks goes to Cyanogen team who has made great efforts to build official CM13 (Marshmallow) ROM.
With the help of below tutorial we will guide you to install official CM13 Android 6.0 Marshmallow ROM on OnePlus One handset. In order to install the ROM, the device should be rooted and has TWRP recovery installed. So, without much wasting time we will directly take you to the flashing process.
Early preparations:
- The below procedure is only for OnePlus One handset. Don’t try to install on any other device.
- Take full backup of your device in order to restore back if any data loss occurs.
- OnePlus One should have root access and TWRP installed.
- The battery level should be more than 70% to install the CM13 ROM.
How to Install CM13 ROM on OnePlus One:
Step 1: Download CM 13 Android 6.0 Marshmallow ROM and Google Gapps zip files to your laptop.
Step 2: Now you need to copy the same files to device storage using a standard USB cable.
Step 3: Once done, turn off your OnePlus One device and boot into TWRP recovery mode (press and hold Volume Down + Power buttons together).
Step 4: From Recovery main menu, you need to select Wipe > Swipe to Factory Reset, to wipe cache and dalvik cache from your device.
Step 5: Now head back to TWRP recovery main menu and choose Install. Here you need to browse the ROM zip file and select it. After that choose Add more zips options and select Gapps zip file from the internal storage. Now swipe to confirm the flash.
Step 6: The flashing process will starts. Once finish press Wipe Cache & Dalvik.
Step 7: Next, select Reboot System.
You need to wait couple of minutes as the first boots might take up to 5 minutes to apply the updates. Once your device boots in normal mode, you can enjoy the CM13 Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS on your OnePlus One.
