The wait for Nexus owners to receive Android 5.1.1 is finally over. Today Google has started to roll out Android 5.1.1 build to Nexus devices which were struck in Android 5.1 OS. Some of the phones and tablets received OTAs update while Google also posted Android 5.1.1 factory images for LG Nexus 4, LG Nexus 5 and the Nexus 9. Flashing of this Factory images on your Nexus devices needs familiarity with unlocking bootloaders and using Google’s Fastboot utility. There are many simple tutorial available on the web for flashing guides.
After Android 5.1.1 update to the above Nexus devices, the Nexus 6 is the only device to get the latest Firmware update. But it is expected to see the update in the upcoming weeks.
In addition, Asus have also posted Android 5.1.1 factory images for Nexus 7 tablets (both Wi-Fi and cellular), so the OTA likely isn’t far off.
