Asus finally started rolling out Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Zenfone 4 (A400CG), Zenfone 5 (A500/A501CG) and Zenfone 6 (A600/A601CG) smartphones. The update is currently rolling out for the Zenfone 4 (A400CG) smartphone in India. The device went on sale in India recently on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
The Android 4.4 KitKat update for the entire Zenfone series is available in countries namely China, Taiwan and other countries. The update adds call blocking, video effects or filters, full dual standby with two SIM cards (dual SIM models only) and a special Do Not Disturb mode.
However the Zenfone series Smartphone users in India can constantly keep a check of update by navigating through their handset’s Settings > About Phone > Software update option.

Commenting on the update, Peter Chang, Regional Head – South Asia & Country Manager – System Business Group – Asus India, said, “Our users have been eagerly awaiting the android update and we are extremely elated to announce its upgradation at this time of the year. The KitKat update and other additional interesting features will further redefine their experience with their ZenFones.”
Apart from Do Not Disturb Mode feature, the update also include Customizable applications in Quick Tool Box. The Easy Mode of the mobile phones now consists of the Contacts, Call Log, Dialler and Messaging apps adapt for the improved readability in Easy mode. The ASUS ZenUI Launcher includes missed calls, unread e-mails and unread messages from VIP contacts now can be easily showed. Automatic Image Stabilization and Filter effects for videos are included for the camera and photo editing. With the addition of PC Link and Remote link, the data can be easily transferred from one Zenfone to another.
The Android 4.4 KitKat update for Asus Zenfone 4. Zenfone 5 & Zenfone 6 is via OTA (over-the-air) and it is said that the size is 456.62MB for Zenfone 5 Smartphone.

To recall, the Asus ZenFone 4 A400CG, the ZenFone 5 and the ZenFone 6 handsets was introduced in India back in July this year. The Asus ZenFone handsets include the new ZenUI skin on top of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS. The company launched the larger ZenFone 4 A450CG in August, which came with Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.
