So let’s have a quick look at the pre requisites needed for the update process and then let’s check out step by step procedure to update YU Yuphoria YU5010 to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop CM12.1 firmware.

Early Preparations:

  • All the important data present on your device should be properly backup. This helps to restore the data in case of any data loss during or after the process.
  • Battery life on your device should be 60% or more.
  • Download and install necessary drivers on your PC for easy transfer of files and other data from device to computer.

How to Update YU Yuphoria YU5010 with Cyanogen Mod 12.1 Android 5.1.1 Firmware:

Step #1: Download CM 12.1 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Update Zip and Gapps package to your computer. Connect your device with PC and transfer the same downloaded packages to the root folder of device internal storage.

Step #2: Disconnect your handset with PC and turn off your device. Now enter into recovery mode by pressing the Volume Down + Volume Up + Power Button simultaneously.

Step #3: Now from recovery main menu, select wipe/ clear data/ factory reset options. Again go to recovery main menu and select “Install Zip from SD card” and choose the CM12.1 update package. Now wait till the firmware is installed on your device.

Step #4: Repeat the above step to flash Gapps on your Yuphoria Android device. After the successful installation of firmware and Gapps, go back to recovery main menu and select ‘reboot system now’.

The first boot might take longer time, so be patience and wait till the device boots up. To check the firmware version after the update process, go to Settings > About Phone.
