Perform Nandroid backup and normal backup before starting the update process. The below process works on with rooted devices, so make sure the device has root access. Also make sure to enable USB debugging from settings and charge your device to 60% battery life.
How to Update LG G3 with Android M Preview based Custom ROM:
Step 1: Download Android M based custom ROM file aosp_d855-ota-eng.manups4e.zip from the given link to your PC/computer.
Step 2: Connect your LG G3 smartphone to PC and transfer the same zip file to device storage.
Step 3: Now disconnect the smartphone and turn off your handset.
Step 4: Enter into recovery mode on your G3.
Step 5: From recovery main menu, perform hard reset and clear cache by selecting “wipe data factory reset”, “wipe cache partition” and “wipe dalvik cache”.
Step 6: After completion of above steps, again go back to recovery main menu and select- install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card.
Step 7: Wait until LG G3 install the Android M Custom ROM.
Step 8: When done, select “reboot system now” and enjoy the new firmware.
