Update Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update via CM11

Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 can now be upgraded to Android 4.4.2 KitKat via CM11. The update procedure is quite simple and easy and for those who are familiar with installing custom ROM on their Android devices, then this should not be any difficult for you.

First the users have to root the Android Smartphone and then have to install a custom recovery. So below is the complete step-by-step guide which let you to update the Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 to Android 4.4 KitKat OS via CM11 custom ROM.

Quick Pre-requisites:

  • Make sure your phone is rooted and ClockworkMod recovery installed.
  • Take backup of entire personal data present on your device.
  • Enable USB Debugging from the developer options.
  • The battery level in the device should be atleast 50% to avoid power-off during the upgrade process.

Update Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat

Step 1: Download CM11 Android 4.4.2 KitKat ROM and Google Apps for Galaxy S Duos to your PC. Connect the device to PC with original USB cable. Now copy the downloaded files to root of the device SD card.

Step 2: Next turn off your Android smartphone and disconnect from the USB cable. Now enter the Galaxy S Duos S7562 into Recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power Buttons together.

Step 3: In ClockworkMod recovery, perform “wipe data/factory reset” and “wipe cache partition” and also go to advanced in main menu and perform “wipe dalvik cache”. Now again head back to main recovery menu and select the option “install zip from SD card”.

Step 4: Next select “choose zip from sdcard”. Now navigate to file Android 4.4.2 ROM.zip copied to SD card with volume keys and select it with the help of Power button. Confirm the installation of custom ROM in the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.

Step 5: Repeat the above same process to install the Gapps zip to your device. After successful installation, go to Go Back  and select the option “reboot system now” to reboot the device.

Step 6: Your Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 will boot now. The device will take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So be patient till your device reboots.
